The Chinese New Year began today, Friday, January 31, 2014, ushering in the Year of the Horse.
I was born in the Year of the Horse, which may explain my affinity for horses, as well as the incredibly long relationship I shared with one horse in particular, Wenways Brat, whom I lost in 2012.
Over the past two years, I have been compiling tidbits and stories about Brat, and what I learned as someone who was fortunate enough to share her life from her infancy through her last breath.
Two years ago, I mourned her loss and paid tribute with a daily Twitter series called, “Lessons From My Horse.” This year, I will combine the tidbits, stories, and lessons in a memoir.
If you’ve read The Lightbearers Books, you know that I believe in Serendipity – that life places little hints and clues for us that let us know we are on the right path. It is no coincidence, then, that Brat’s life will be celebrated and commemorated in 2014, The Year of the Horse.
Your comments and feedback are welcomed and appreciated. (And, yes, the third book in The Lightbearers series is nearing completion, and will be available soon!)
Keep shining!
