In addition to writing books and creating content for clients, I have spent the past 10 years coaching people who want to improve their writing for personal or business reasons.
My coaching started at FoxTale Book Shoppe in 2009, when I began teaching Creative Writing classes in the evenings. We’ve had as many as twenty people in a class, and the writing is amazing. I tell my students that my job is to remind them that they are writers, and to offer suggestions and feedback to build their confidence. Apparently, it’s working, as several students have gone on to publish their work! In 2015, we added 3-hour Boot Camp workshops, which take place on Saturdays.
Since 2012, I have also been coaching Active Adult writers through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Kennesaw State University – with several published authors coming out of that program, as well! KSU expanded my role in 2014, when I became a Summer Camp writing teacher through their SummerU program.
For several years, I’ve offered “Spirit of Writing” and “Creative Deep-Dive” weekend workshops, where we nourish our writing and creative selves with conversation, divine food, and no phones or internet service. (It’s incredible how much our writing improves when we aren’t distracted!)
Recently, I’ve been asked if I would coach writers in one-on-one sessions. I have done so in the past, and I have strict parameters about these situations, and yes, they do involve a fee.
If you are interested in any of the above coaching situations, please let me know. The best way to reach me is via email: beth@bethhermes.com; or Private Message on my Beth Hermes-Author page on Facebook.

Happy Writing!
